Model 1889 SxS top lever hammer shotgun.  12 gauge

Fully functional

Serial # is above 200,000 which means the gun was built after the year 1900.

Grade 1 model - decarbonized twist barrels, exposed circular hammers.  The rib is marked "Remington Arms Co. Ilion, N.Y. U.S.A."

Checkered pistol type grip and forearm.  Right hammer has a screw and brass washer under the hammer screw which is not original.  

Hard rubber buttplate has broken in half.  

Since the Remington company is no more, these shotguns may go up in value in the future.  Even if they don't, this is still a nice example of turn of the 20th century gun manufacturing.
