Enfield

Here is an interesting Enfield with an 1858 dated Tower lock. The interior of the lock does not have a bridle and I'm not sure about the tumbler - it doesn't look like a factory made one to me.  The lock interior has a WD under an arrow marking.

There is a rondel on the stock but it is very difficult to read.  I made some rubbings of it and it looks like it is upside down.  A large number '2' lies beneath it and some marks above that I could not distinguish. It bears similarity to a London mark. 

Ramrod is bent.  

Fair condition overall.

Lock screws aren't long enough to engage the lock and would need to be replaced.

Stock condition has the usual nicks and dents of an old militay small arm and I could not find any maker names or stamps.  Metal furniture on the stock is in good shape.

The bore is gray and could use a good scrubbing but the rifling is good.
