Fourth Model Burnside. 54 caliberlever action breech loader. 21 inch barrel. Markings on lock and breech are legible. There is minor pitting on some metal areas but a nice overall patina. The rifling in the barrel is very good. Fully operational.
Over 100,000 carbines of all models were manufactured. It is estimated that 43 Federal cavalry regiments were armed with the Burnside and at least 7 Confederate regiments were partially armed with Burnsides.
This is a nice example of a well known cavalry weapon used during the Civil War. Add it to your collection!
